While Lindsay's parents were visiting Dubai and meeting Moustafa for the first time, a trip to the Old Dubai Market, or Old Souk, was planned. During a previous visit to Dubai, Moustafa's sister Jasmine told us of the Old Souk and its character, and Lindsay's interest was peaked.
We jumped on the metro for a relatively short metro ride from JBR and JTL to the Old Souk. We arrived at the market and passed by stalls of spices and goods to be sold, while merchants tried to sell us their wares. Moustafa then mentioned that while we are here, we should also check out the Gold Souk.
After touring around, we ventured over to the other part of the market. We entered a jewelry store, and upon Moustafa's urging, Lindsay began looking at rings. It wasn't until the third jewelry store, that Lindsay clued into the fact that we were actually ring shopping and not just window shopping!
We looked at nearly every ring available in the store, eventually finding a piece we truly loved. Lindsay's parents provided their input on the chosen ring, and we made the final decision that this was the one! The ring was part of a set, so we found both the engagement and wedding ring.
Finding the rings with each other was a special experience, and it was a bonus to include Lindsay's parents in the event. They took our picture outside the jewelry store right after we bought the rings.
