In October 2019 (in the before times), we had our first trip to Europe together. This was Moustafa's first ever visit to Europe and he was so excited to see the sights and play tourist!
We started our trip together in Paris, after Moustafa enjoyed a night in Amsterdam, meeting together at the Gare du Nord.
Our Airbnb was in Montmartre, so that we could keep close to the city centre.
On our first night we explored the Arc-de-Triomphe and walked down the Champs-Elysée to the river and took a Seine river cruise tour through the city. We ended our night at the restaurant Le Georges V, enjoying a classic french dinner.
Our second day in Paris, we visited the Louvre and focused our time in the Egyptian and Middle-Eastern art wings. We took refreshment at the Café du Paul, where Moustafa proudly ordered us "deux cappuccinos, et un pain au chocolate."
After our snack, we walked through the Jardin des Tuileries where there was a series of public art installations to explore. We then stumbled upon some electric scooters and decided to test them out.
After a quick pitstop at another café, we scootered over to the Eifel Tower and ascended to the top by elevator. While it was a little wet and windy, we peered over all corners of the city and took this selfie to commemorate our experience. On our way back down, we decided to take the stairs.
Once we made it back to the ground, we found some more scooters and headed to a restaurant nearby. At the end of the night, we took a taxi back to Montmartre, enjoying a great conversation with our Algerian driver.
